Ben currently works at Red Brain Labs where he gets to work with cool machine learning algorithms and do polyglot programming. :) (Mostly Clojure and Java for the ML and "heavy lifting", Ruby for the web applications and server configuration, and a smattering of R for ad hoc analysis.)
He earned his Bachelors and Master degrees in Computer Science (with an emphasis in graphics) from the University of Utah. He is an emeritus core member of the Cucumber team, a popular BDD testing framework. The areas of machine learning, software gardening, and programming languages usually keep him busy. While on IRC he is known as 'mabes'.
In his "real" life he enjoys running, swimming, and biking.
